They tried really hard and were really nice, but ultimately the boat was loud and smelly, my regulator mouthpiece had been chewed off (rented rather than brought equipment to reduce transmission of SCTLD) and we had ordered Nitrox but they did not put it on the boat. That said, the manager tried to make it up to us. Just not what we are used to. UPDATE: 5 stars for customer service!

It is THE spot for good fun diving on the island. They go the best dive spots, will partner you with experienced dive masters and do long dives if your air consumption allows it. Its also a nice place to hang out, they have a little bar and a cool dock to relax. I recommend this dive shop to divers looking for quality.

I think the best thing you can say about diving with a shop is that you walk away with more skills and more knowledgeable than when you walked in. This is extremely true of my experience with Alton's. I dove here for 4 days and I learned a lot and had beautiful dives. Beto is extremely knowledgeable and skilled. He can find the smallest life form of anyone I have ever dove with. One day after diving with him while diving with another company I found a Pipefish on my own. Think Beto would be proud 🤟

I thought everyone was extremelyyyy friendly and professional. In fact, this was one of the most professional shops that I’ve dove at in a while. I really appreciated their briefing before the dive, as well as the roll call they took before and after each dive. My dive master took pictures and had them emailed to me the very same night. Super awesome people, location, service, procedures, etc. The only reason that I didn’t give Alton’s a 5 is because I had equipment issues on both of my dives which was a little discouraging. Dive # 1, the BCD hose was leaking quite a bit of air the entire time and was so long that it kept pulling my mask off each time I’d turn my head to the left. Not a big deal, but it was annoying and I found myself having to hold the hose down for my entire dive. Dive # 2, we changed the hose, so that was much better, but my tank was leaking so bad that by the time we swam to the buoy, I was down to 1,200 psi. Obviously I had to swim back to the boat and change tanks.. which would have been totally fine, but I was in between which group I would swim with (advanced, or my boyfriend’s beginner), and the advanced group had already been diving for 15 minutes before I was ready to descend.. which meant that I missed a decent junk of dive time because of having to change the tank. I surfaced with just under half a tank remaining. My diver master was fabulous, and he felt bad about it but it wasn’t his fault at all. It wasn’t anyone’s fault... It was just the situation that I was in for that particular dive, and the equipment giving me issues :( I’m sure I just got unlucky both dives and if I dove again, I bet it’d be much better. All and all, I was happy with the shop, and my boyfriend who did his DSD learned a lot and had a great experience.
